History

BOS was founded on March 3rd, 2003, and is registered in Entry Nº 103959 of the Registry of Legal People of the city of Sullana. BOS, initiates its operations of export in 2005, managing to send 31 containers to a private company; however they were only paid for two containers, originating an unstable situation for the association, losing validity not only its Directive Counsel, but also the FLO certification.

However, the farmers continued managing business with FLO and other companies of the valley, managing to raise the corrective measures that FLO certification had originated, and on the 16th of December of 2005 they obtained a new certification, which allowed them through COPDEBAN DOLE, the export of 1 weekly container to the United States.

In the meantime, the association had gone through a process of internal resetting, modifying in December of 2005 its statutes and in February of 2006 they went through the electoral process, where the Directive Council and Committee of Control were chosen, for a management of 2 years.

At the moment BOS is integrated by 314 small farmers of banana tree, distributed in 29 sectors of production, that lead an area of 255,33 certified acres. The growth of our Association occurs thanks to team work and to the responsibility and commitment to our clients.
